Train ride was fun and very informative. The conductor was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The town is very interesting and a throwback to the old western days.

The place seemed kind of run down; it was disappointing. I was expecting something nicer with more character. But if you're looking to spend a few hours and have lunch, it's OK. The train ride was simply 3 miles one way and back again. If you're interested in mining history the train is fine, but other than that I would recommend taking the trolley instead--you get to see more.

It was nice but since we have being driving up to Virginia City for over 30 years it wasn't a big deal! For visitors who have never been there it would be a fun outing for a family.
