My husband and I booked onto the Turnagain Tour via Alaska's Finest Tours. Our tour guide was Ben- he was superb from start to finish. There were 7 of us on this tour; yet Ben made everyone feel as if they were on their own private tour. It was so unique. The group were smiling like 'Cheshire Cats' throughout (British saying). Ben is a Native from Juneau, Alaska. Which made his wealth of knowledge and personal touches so quirky & special! 10/10 from us. The price was SUPERB value for money. Ben was awesome!! He went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did he take us on the expected tour but allowed us to decide if we wanted to do more activities along the way. Highly recommend this tour, Ben is definitely the guy you’d like to tour with!

I am a solo traveler and Ben was so helpful and added me on to a day he already booked with other solo travelers. We did both tours in one day—the Wildlife/Turnagain Arm Tour in the morning and then the All Around City Tour in the afternoon! It was an awesome day! Even for it being the winter time and a cloudy/foggy day, the views on the drive down to the Wildlife Center were absolutely stunning—I’m sure they are even more so on a clear day! We made multiple photo op stops and got to see a frozen waterfall and natural mountainside spring on the drive down! Ben had lots of interesting information about Alaska to tell us and it was an enjoyable drive! We spent a decent amount of time at the Wildlife Center and the animals were beautiful! We then turned down to Portage Lake and even got to step out on the frozen ice! So cool! The lake is surrounded by hanging glaciers that I’m sure are even more magnificent in the summer when they are more blue, but even in the winter you can see the blue tint as the sun shines off of them! From here, we turned back towards Anchorage and visited multiple stops! My favorites were Earthquake Park and the Native Medical Center’s Art Collection. The gift shop was closed because of President’s Day, but be sure to check that out when you go because it looked like they had some really cool pieces in there! Overall, it was a wonderful day And totally worth the time and price! Ben was a wonderful guide and had tons of recommendations on things to see and do during my 3-month travel nursing assignment here in Anchorage!
