Pickup was convenient at the visitors center and prompt. Tour was limited to 14 passengers, so it was a nice, intimate group. Chris, our tour guide was an encyclopedia of knowledge. Wildlife sanctuary was fascinating and we were able to grab a quick lunch there to eat on the van.

Gary was our guide tor the excursion. He was great and did everything possible to make it a fun as well as informative trip. He was young, energetic and knowledgeable about Alaska.

Our driver, Darren, was informative, amusing and professional although sometimes hard to hear. Unfortunately 20 minutes into the trip we had to return to collect two other people which was embarrassing for our driver and irritating for those of us who had bothered to get to the designated tour start on time. The scenery and Portage Glacier was amazing and the wildlife center visit was very good. Plenty of space to see and photograph the animals, especially the bears. I'm not sure the five minutes (I timed in it) we spent on a short trail among some trees warranted the description 'walk in the rainforest'. Although it might be technically correct (?) it rather implied an experience more than it actually was. Not a bad tour for the money, though, considering the distance travelled and the cost of fuel these days.
