I really enjoyed this tour, the route was so scenic and beautiful. Ben was our tour guide and he stopped at great spots for us to take pictures. We didn’t spot any beluga but we managed to see all of the animals at the conservation centre. The prettiest scene was the stop at the salmon dam where we got a great view of the Portage glacier.

Nothing beats seeing animals in their own January but if you're chicken likes me lie the massive animals aren't cooperating this is thenext best thing! I don't like animals in captivity but this place is essential for the survival for these individuals and those that are able to, run free again are released. I like a feel good story 😊 The animals are well cared for and effort is made to house then in as natural setting as their compound permits. I saw wolves, bears, moose, porcupines and lots more! It was drizzling the day I was there and there was no real place to get out of the rain. I think there is a pavilion but they had a function on, lucky I had an umbrella. The place is really set up for people with vehicles. I recommend if you don't have your own vehicle then take a tour which includes the centre. My companion and I managed to get a lift from Anchorage and organised for someone to pick us up from Seward, which required a lot of skillful negotiation, plus it was the end of September when we and the amount of tourists were slowing down to a drizzle. 1 to 2 hours would be enough time to give this place a good look. For those that love to spend money, there was a great souvenir shop. We loved seeing the animals and reading their story.
