The Willamette Valley wine region, once known for its fruit orchards and nurseries, has become one of the United States' premier producers of cool-climate varietals like pinot noir. Start your wine country tour with hotel pickup from downtown Portland, and make your way by Mercedes Sprinter Van to three wineries carefully chosen by us. Portland is the perfect hub for exploring quiet backcountry roads through Oregon’s wine country, with more than half of the state’s 500 or so wineries located about 45 minutes away in the nearby Willamette Valley taking in beautiful vistas of gently rolling hills that give way to the expansive valley with views the Cascade Mountains. At each winery, taste a select group of varietals that will please even the most discerning palate, from reds like Pinot Noir Cabernet Franc to award-winning Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Rose, Riesling & more. We LOVED our tour with Gunner. We were in a group of 5 people, my husband and I plus 3 others. We drove from Dowtown to the first Vinyard about 1 hour away. Gunner filled the trip with facts about the city and soil. He tried to appeal to the characters of the group. The group really got along and we really got to know each other over the tour. We went to three vineyards in total. We started at a single man operation Vinyard where he did it for the love of it. The second Vinyard was a medium operation where we had a charcuterie board with the wine. The last place was very high end and fancy. We saw three different styles but had so much great wine. We tried about 5 different wines at each place. Such an amazing trip. My husband is not a big wine person and wasn't looking forward to the trip, when it was over he admitted he had a blast. Recommend to couples and older families (kids in or past their 20s). Also, saw many fabulous views.

This was a FABULOUS trip from top to bottom - highly recommend! I was booking the final day of my husband's "food and wine tour" birthday getaway, and he has really specific tastes in wines, especially the Pinot Noirs for which the Willamette Valley is well known. I spoke with the owner of the touring company, Debbie, who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and responsive, and she set up a great day for us. Comfortable drive, friendly driver/guide, beautiful scenery and outstanding wines! We placed orders at every single stop and had a blast!
