My wife and I were having difficulty deciding what to get her father and step-mother for Christmas this year as they pretty much have every "thing" they want. We were looking to give them an experience and Taste of Williamsburg fit the bill perfectly. We chose the New Town tour as they have had several dining experiences in Historic Williamsburg. Not only were they enjoy the dining locations and signature dishes of each establishment, but were impressed by the host's (a current College of William and Mary student) knowledge of the establishments and his ability to keep the conversation flowing for close to 3 hours. The only "negative" was that one stop on the tour was closed (due to issues well beyond the control of Taste of Williamsburg). As this was a wine tasting stop, it would have been the perfect middle book-ended by the food at the other stops. They said it was a great way to experience multiple restaurants and types of cuisine. Definitely consider for those hard-to-shop-for folks on your list.

The food on this tour was great all-around and a little wine tasting was included too, but not from a winery just a local store that has an awesome wine selections. My friend and I completed a tour tasting in Key West once before and thought that doing a taste tour in the future might be a bad idea. However, we decided to try the taste of Williamsburg tour despite our feelings from the previous disappointment and we were sure glad we gave this tour a shot. Doug thanks for being our tour guide you were very informative, but for others who might have the energy of my friend and me you may consider livening things up a bit. Lance, we really appreciated the fact that you took the time to come over to our tour, introduce yourself, and chat with us a bit that was a nice touch. Since we did this tour on our last day in Williamsburg, we did not get to have these restaurants for dinner for additional nights as another reviewer did, but I would recommend doing this tour earlier in your visit in order to do so.

Taste of Williamsburg is an excellent and tasty way to spend an afternoon in one of the historical cities of Virginia., It is definitely well worth the reasonable price. As an avid history lover, this tour was exactly what I was looking for in order to learn about Williamsburg. Thanks for a great time!
