Ye Olde Tavern Tours

Overview
Ye Olde Tavern Tours offers historic tavern tours in Boston because we believe beer makes history even better! On our guided walking tours, you'll see ten sites on the Freedom Trail and grab a beer at some of the nation's most historic taverns. When visiting Boston, there are certain historic sites and stories you shouldn't leave without seeing and hearing, and you'll do all of that on our tour, all while drinking beer!

Led by expertly-trained historians (our guides have a minimum of a Bachelor's in History and many of them are currently working towards or have a PhD in History), you'll learn about the drunken and revolutionary history of Boston in the eighteenth century.

We cap each tour at 12 people to provide an intimate and accessible experience. Our tours are the most fun and social way to experience Boston!

We are a small, local business and we greatly appreciate your support!

We just got back from boston and booked this tour last minute on our last day. Brooke was very informative, PHD and all. I would recommend this to anyone, even if they leave in the city. We went on a few tours prior to the ye oldetour, She definitely did not repeat the same speech as all the other tour guides which made it super interesting. You could tell all the bars loved her and looked forward to our tour coming in. Make a must due on your next visit.

We wanted to learn some Boston history and have fun at the same time. This tour did just that! Our guide was very informed and eager to share her knowledge of history. The taverns were welcomed stops and each had played a part in Boston's history. We so enjoyed walking a portion of the Freedom Trail, having a beer, and engaging fellow tourists. I would highly recommend this tour!

A group of 7 of us came to Boston from Texas last weekend. We knew the Freedom Trail was a must-see, but I hoped we could avoid the over-crowded tours offered by the Foundation. After doing some searches for pub tours, I came across Ye Olde Tavern Tours. Brooke was extremely responsive when I initially contacted her, and the tour itself was fantastic. She keeps her group sizes small; she's extremely engaging; we hit all the main spots along the Freedom Trail; her stories were interesting and insightful; and, of course, you stop for beers along the way. I cannot recommend this enough. We had a ton of fun. Thanks, Brooke!
