I had four days in Yosemite and had no plans. EXCEPT, I went ahead and scheduled a day hike that started Glacier Point. Now, mind you...I had no idea what that entailed as I've never been to Yosemite before! I won't elaborate on the other three days (which were awesome) but I still had no idea about this one. The folks from Lasting Adventures communicated with me VERY WELL. The were quick and responsive. I was going as a SOLO hiker. This didn't bother me as I'm outgoing so I figured I'd meet some new friends. Well, on Sunday morning it turned out to be me and my guide - Gabe "Critter" Kee. What a knowledgeable and kind man! We ended up sharing quite a bit about ourselves during our 6 hour hike, that I will remember for a lifetime. OK...back to the trip. You take a 30 or 40 min bus ride to TOP of Glacier Point. Critter pointed out all the points of interest from up there. Then we started our hike DOWN and UP but mostly DOWN. If you're in reasonably good shape (I'm 61, trim and pretty decent shape) you can do this. Critter was good at stopping whenever I felt the need. He also is a wealth of knowledge of the area as he's hiked Yosemite extensively. I was in excellent hands. We went past several of the parks Falls and finally came to The Mist Trail. BRING RAIN GEAR as you will get SOAKED. The great thing is, you'll run into the crowds, but they'll be coming UP and you're going down! Bring GOOD TRACTION Hiking boots or shoes. Mine are a little worn out and I'll toss them now. In short, if you're looking for a hike that will push you some - this is the hike to choose. If you can get Critter as your guide - even better!

Critter was our guide and he was AWESOME! We all hailed from the same state (Florida) and went to FSU. Critter (Gabriel) was so very knowledgeable of the area, especially the history beginning with native Indians. I had trouble with the last leg of the hike becomes my knee decided to quit, but Gabe got me down with no trouble taking the least steep path. He was also very smart to bring hiking poles for everyone (I had never used them) and they were a Godsend for getting me down!

My sisters and I visited Yosemite for a weekend while road tripping through CA. We did a guided day tour from glacier point down the panorama trail. The hike and views were incredible! The guide was very knowledgeable and fun to be around. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with limited time wanting to see as much of the park as they can and not wanting to deal with maps or where to go. There were also a ton of people at the park while we were there and our guide was able to take us some routes less crowded which was super nice. Will definitely do another hike with them whenever I travel back!
