Iā€™m giving this one 4 1/2 ā€œtargetsā€ out of 5. Yosemite is a treasure of a park and we were happy with our choice of tours. With only a day to visit, we were glad to not have to do the driving so we could enjoy the change in scenery as we moved from the Bay Area through the San Joachin Valley to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Roman was our very experienced guide: knowledgeable about the history, humorous, and obviously passionate about the area. He kept us on schedule and still allowed plenty of time to view the Yosemite valley and took us to beautiful photo-op sites. I would love to give five stars for the tour itself. My exception is due to the limited time at the giant sequoias-an extra half hour would have helped those of us not used to the altitude to have time to get down the steep trail, spend 10-15 minutes to see the trees and have enough time to climb back up and use the restroom. Overall I would recommend this tour. Plan for a full day, dress for the expected weather, but be prepared for it being hotter or colderā€”it is the mountains after all. In the summer, there is time to splash in the river, so keep that in mind. Bring a backpack; ladies, leave your purse-it will annoy you! Thereā€™s a stop two hours in to allow for a restroom break and to pick up food and drink for lunch-do this, donā€™t waste precious time eating at the Yosemite snack bar. Youā€™ll be riding a bus on twisting mountain roads. Some road sections are rough and the a/c on the bus is not strong during these climbing stretches. Plus thereā€™s the altitude change that could make you feel a little woozy. Stay hydrated! There will be another stop on the way back to SF to get dinner. Be a good guest. Be on time. Understand that pick-up and drop-off times are not exact. Bring cash to tip your guide-this is an exhausting day for them too and I know our guide gave us his best. Plan for $10-20 per person as a starting point.

June 15, 2018 I received a call in our hotel from Viator to confirm our Yosemite Tour on June 16 with pick-up a 0620 at Sheraton Union Square SF. It was our way to afford a trip to Yosemite with time and money. We arrived at 0610 and waited and waited and waited. Finally at 0645 a bus arrived but with complications we didn't depart until at least 0715, nearly an hour late. The trip was pleasant, JASON, our guide was talkative and knowledgeable. Inside the park we stopped at a giant Sequoia grove. It is a one mile downward trek to the grove and a one mile upward trek back. Jason said it should take 20 going down and 40 minutes returning so he gave us a time to be back at a bit over an hour. My wife and I walked down in the time no problem. Spent 10-12 minutes taking photos and headed back. The uphill climb and the altitude got to us and it took longer than anticipated and we were late. Jason was there to meet us and chastised us without asking if there was a problem. He told us when he says a time to be back we must be back by then. I asked him what about pickup time of 0620 versus departure of 0715 he said it is not his fault, and they had an excuse, and we left on time. So why did we have to be there so early for a 0715 departure. Jason also told us that he can leave us abandoned at a site if we are not back at his designated time. That is nice to know. They can have problems but the paying customer cannot. Thanks to Jason for a very memorable day.

Our tour guide was wonderful. Full of energy and enthusiasm for Yosemite, and genuinely interested in making sure that we got the most out of the trip, she was truly great. I highly recommend this particular tour company.
