We embarrassingly missed our first booking but were rebooked onto the Tuesday Yosemite visit without any additional issues. Our trip was lead by Phil who in many ways was the star attraction, and shared his innate knowledge of both Yosemite and the area of California through which we travelled en route, in a fluent and informative way. He also had to contend with a malfunctioning bus and took this in his stride, arranging a bus swap with minimal delay and to be honest no discernible impact on the tour. Only criticism would be the lack of good a/c on both busses but hardly the guide's fault. In summary, Phil is an asset to your organisation and thanks again for a great tour. Our trip pickup was supposed to be 6:00am and we didn't get picked up until 6:45am. We were called and told our driver called in sick. Our replacement driver, Gino, was hard to understand with a thick accent and he was a very aggressive driver which was frightening navigating along the narrow steep cliffs of Yosemite. It would have been better to stop at the Mariposa Grove of Sequoias rather than the Touloumne Grove due to the difficult hike to get to the grove in a tight stop time. Yosemite is breath taking with scenery but I would not use Extranomical tours again.

Yosemite is a great place, the scene is amazing! It's a must do if you are in SF or San Jose area. The tour itself was OK as we were in a rush and having everything done in one day sounded cool. However there are some reservations: 1. Agreed with some other reviewers that the confirmation is unnecessary. I got an email from Extranomical Tours requesting my confirmation 12 hours priors to scheduled pick up time. I wrote back without any acknowledgement. 2. The scheduled pick up time was 6:10 in the morning. I followed the instruction and showed up at the spot 10 minutes early. At 7:30 we are still waiting in the street and I felt something is not right so my wife went back to the hotel asking assistance from the concierge to reach Extranomical Tours. While she was making calls to ensure the tour was still on the bus arrived at 7:40. Constantine, our giude and driver urged me and my son to get on the bus. My wife was still in the hotel and I asked him for a for more minutes and he said "I can't wait cos I'm already 40 minutes late". I've been waiting for 40 minutes and now I just asked for 2 more minutes! 3. The bus was a very old one. The seats are small and the ride was bumpy. The worst of all is the air conditing wasn't coping. When we travel inland the temperature was hitting 80+! Definitely far from comfortable. 4. I think Constantine talked too much. He sounded like a lone late night host of a radio program. But his voice was clear, so did all of his comments and explanations. 5. If you join the tour, avoid doing it in the weekend. We sat on traffic in the park which shortened our experience by at least an hour and a half. Stops were brief but I can't complain too much on a day trip like this. If you are visiting in the weekend I'd suggest skipping the Giant Sequoia. IMHO its worth spending more time in the valley. I hope Extranomical Tours should have seriously considered upgrading the bus, or at least to get the AC fixed. Please streamline the confirmation procedure to make your guest a little more pleasant.

Dear Rainer, Thank you for your comments and "yes" we CAN do better (as our many 5-star reviewers say). We're sorry your pickup was frustrating. Time and location confirmations are important for making sure everyone has the most time in Yosemite National Park. We try to make it as easy as possible to do this via text, email or phone. Ultimately, we are glad you got to enjoy Yosemite on the busiest week of the year. Trust, that we have taken all of your suggestions to heart. Best regards, Extranomical Tours
