Between November and March, when the trail is not safe due to snow and ice accumulation, we substitute the hike with additional time in Yosemite Valley.
The Giant Sequoias Grove is located at a higher elevation and the hike is dependent on trail conditions, especially from October through May. Ice and snow might make the trail unsafe to hike. The decision of whether it is safe to go on the hike will be made on a day by day basis. Therefore, a visit cannot be guaranteed. However, while the trail might be closed, guests get to spend more time in Yosemite Valley. There you can see all the other great sights Yosemite has to offer, including El Capitan, Inspiration Point, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls and more.
As tour sizes vary, transportation is in a 15-passenger van or up to a 40-passenger tour bus
Tour makes stops at approximately 8:30am for breakfast, 1pm for lunch and on the trip back for dinner. Meals are not included

California law requires tour guests to bring a car safety seat for all children under 8 years and under 4' 9" (1.4 meters) in height. We did the one day tour of Yosemite from San Francisco. Our guide Andy was great. Very informative and interesting. Mildly entertaining. Quite helpful. Didn't get to see Sequoia but that's a weather thing. It's a hard job and he did well. I couldn't drive that much in a day. The bus was clean and tidy. My only real knock is the bus needs some repair. All seats have cup holders but 80% were broken. There's USB chargers but all the ones around me were broken. The AC was broken which we didn't figure out till 1/2 way home so the last 2 hours back were miserable; ironic in 50 deg weather.

Just finished my day trip to Yosemite for a once in a lifetime chance to view and experience the wilderness. Andy was such a wonderful tour guide, incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable. Tour was history oriented and it felt good to learn as we went. There was no lack of enthusiasm from him. For those looking to go, pack layers and consider bringing changes of clothing. Weather ended up being 30 degrees warmer than anticipated, so I changed pants halfway. You can leave your stuff on the bus while at the park. Many photo opportunities too! The bus could definitely use an upgrade bc many of the plugs and or cup holders are broken along with the temperature control, but that was alright. Overall, very much enjoyed and good job Andy!

Andy was our tour guide and it is clear he loves his job and his enthusiasm was catching. He spent time explaining history, giving a tour of Yosemite valley and really worked hard to get the right photo for my daughter. My only is the air conditioning on the bus was not working and it was very steamy on the way home, though this is an issue for the tour company itself
