We spent a very enjoyable day at this zoo! Went during a quieter time during the week in October, and a few of the concessions were closed. The animal variety was very good. We ate lunch there and thought the food was delicious (though expensive). My only disappointment was that the enclosure for the Shoebill Storks (on my bucket list to see) was fully fenced/enclosed so my photos all had chain link in them. We enjoyed the Macaw Flyover (twice!) and the Lorikeet feeding.

I visited the Zoo Tampa in October with my granddaughter. We had a fun day watching the monkeys, viewing several ocean creatures, and riding the safari transport. The zoo is well kept and the animals appeared healthy and comfortable in their homes. The different areas were well planned and easy to access. Parking was free and an easy walk to the zoo entrance. We had lunch in one of the many restaurants and although a bit pricey the food was very good. You are allowed to bring food and drinks with you if you want to picnic as there are many tables near the giant treehouse play area. I would recommend this as a family outing.

This zoo was a nice experience. There is a wide range of animals, including some larger ones like elephants and giraffes that you don't normally see unless you are at a wildlife safari type zoo. The staff is friendly and seems to know most of the animals by name.
