Absolutely fantastic zoo! My only complaint is we were absolutely MELTING haha - global warming's fault, not the zoo's. Not much of it offers any shade, so I recommend going in the winter. Will absolutely be back.

We spent about 3 hours with our family of four (two adults and two kids age 4 and 8) at the zoo. This zoo is very nicely laid out and has impeccable grounds - real attention to detail in landscaping is evident throughout the grounds/walkways. They had an excellent assortment of animals, the majority of which had interesting and well maintained habitats. A happy surprise was the kiddie rides area which was pleasantly included in the price of admission! (These things always seem to be ticketed so it was awesome to let the kids ride as much as they wanted). We visit a lot of zoos and I will say we were impressed with this one- nice habitats, nice grounds, clean, lots of animals, rides and a good assortment of food options at different price points. Also the large gift shop in the front had some really unique stuffed animals - my kiddos found an African wild dog and a pair of otters (mama and baby). Fun day at the zoo for all!

We were in Tampa for a couple of days and decided to visit ZooTampa as we are members of the Jacksonville Zoo. ZooTampa does give half off to members of other zoos which was nice. We found the zoo to be quite nice we went on a Saturday and it wasnt crazy busy as typically Jacksonville zoo is. There are a really good number of exhibits and the animals seemed to have a good amount of area to move around in. The aquatic exhibit was really nice and they did a really good job being able to see the manatees. All the animals seemed well cared for and happy. I would also note that all the rides are included in the price of your ticket( you have to upgrade in Jacksonville). Also they have several actual rides like a flume ride and a small roller coaster and a carousel. There seemed to be plenty of shade as well and parking was free. Probably the only disappointment was the safari ride as we waited for 40 minutes and the ride could have been more entertaining. Overall they have done a really good job with the zoo even our teenage boys who have been to the Jacksonville Zoo many times had a good time!!
