There was a lot of shade to keep off the heat. The zoo is large and we didn’t see it all in one visit although a determined group *could* see it all if they made a day of it. On a Wednesday in March is was not crowded. Mostly I was impressed that all the rides (like the carousel and water ride) were included in admission, and I know a lot of zoos with carousels who charge extra. We received 50% off our admission through reciprocity with our local zoo. We bought lunch at the pizza restaurant and it was only ok, but that didn’t detract from our overall experience.

My most memorable experience was seeing the rescued manatees. I also enjoyed seeing the Florida panthers.

Zoo was wide open. People were friendly and helpful. Kids got to go on the rides they wanted except the safari 40 min wait all day. Biggest issue was the hundreds and thousands of bees everywhere. Every attraction, every food spot, every garbage can. The poor Kona ice girl by the Roaring Rapids was being swarmed. Spending $200+ for memberships and food we had an ok time. Bees really make the kids feel uncomfortable and swarmed them when they were eating and resting.
