Harry shares his Navajo experiences and heritage with guest which made for a great trip. He stopped for lots of photographs along the tour including long stops at John Ford's viewpoint where local jewelry could be purchased and at traditional Navaho hogan where rug making techniques were demonstrated. I was especially impressed with the traditional clothing and a handed down third generation turquoise necklace with lots of silver worn by the presenter. We saw free range cattle and wild horses as well as stopping at a arch-like cavity carved into the site of a mesa wall. Harry's skill as a photographer was really evident as he was able to quickly adjust an iPhone to make a memorable panoramic portrait of an eagle image on the roof of the cavity. We were on an open air tour vehicle with four folks total so we had lots of quality one on one time with Harry. I recommend folks to take the tour, since these vehicles are equipped with the necessary special purpose regularly changed air filters to protect the vehicle engine. Passenger cars and SUV's should probably not drive the Monument Valley roads to avoid engine damages and clearance damages. We really enjoyed the trip.

The tour of Monument Valley was a major highlight for the family. We met Joseph, our tour guide in our hotel lobby last Wednesday,, and off we went. He was a treasure trove of knowledge about the area, showed us and explained the detail on things we never would have known. It was an unbelievable experience. Thank you Joseph!!

I requested a Suburban type vehicle for our tour of Monument Valley. I had arranged a tour of Monument Valley with my 2 grown sons who had never been there. I had been there 4 years ago when the weather forced shutting down the 17-mile drive loop. The weather report indicated that there was an 80% chance of Thunderstorms the day of our tour and I wanted to make sure we didn't get wet. This proved to be a great decision, even though it didn't rain. We were in a Chevrolet Tahoe which protected us from the weather, and also provided us a comfortable ride, as well as an intimate setting to talk and listen to our guide, Roz. Roz was wonderful at explaining the sights to us, as well as, points of Navajo beliefs, customs, culture and experience. I would recommend this unit of transportation rather than the open truck bed with a cover on the top. There was no price difference. - Jack Poeske
