Our tour guide, Steven, was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and spoke openly about his Navajo heritage. My Dad and I learned so much from him about the area and about the Navajo community. We felt comfortable to ask questions and he always was able to answer them. He made the tour! Thank you, Steven.

Our guide was Derek, who grew up in the area. He had a great sense of humor, and told our small group stories of the area and the Dineh that were sad, funny, historical and legends. We got to go into restricted back country areas and got up close to petroglyphs, stone arches, rock formations, and thousand year-old pottery shards. In one area of a huge rock overhang, he played a song on his flute. Haunting and memorable, the acoustics were amazing. We visited a hogan and learned how wool was spun and how other items were made all from local natural sources. This tour will not take you around the full 17-mile loop, but do that later if you want to.

Our guide was Derrick and did a great job and was very informative. We took tons of pictures. We got access to areas that are not on the regular trails. You need a 4x4 to get into most of the area.
