Excursion de 2 heures en kayak dans le safari de Shem Creek

Aperçu
Explore Charleston's most iconic creek by sea kayak to see native wildlife and learn about the local history. As we paddle past oyster-lined marshes and down by the shrimp boats, we'll see animals like bottlenose dolphins, pelicans, egrets and more. In the summer months, manatees and sea turtles call this creek home, too! Coastal Expeditions guides lead you on this adventure, while making sure that the experience is safe and fun for all ages.

Shem Creek Park
Historic Shem Creek is one of the most iconic spots in Charleston and is known for its shrimp boats, seafood restaurants and wildlife. Bottlenose dolphins frequent this creek and will often breach just feet away from your kayak. In the summers, manatees call Shem Creek home and loggerhead turtles will occasionally pop above the surface.

I participated in both the Shem Creek and the Isle of Palm 3 hour kayak tours. Both tours were the full 3 hours. Both are excellent. Guides on both trips were excellent, very knowledgeable about the wildlife and eco-system. Answered all questions. Guides and staff at both locations were very accommodating of all participants, of varying skill, strengths, and mobility. The Shem Creek tour traveled up the creek and then back down to their dock with a short trip extension towards the Charleston Bay. Some tour participants saw a dolphin, very briefly. The Isle of Palm tour took a circular path through and around the salt water marshes, with a short stop on an island where the guide showed us around and explained additional facts about the marsh plant and wildlife. I preferred the Isle of Palm tour mainly because of the circular route as opposed to the out and back route of the Shem Creek tour.

We just went on the Shark Fossils and Facts Kayak Tour and it was excellent! Our guides Abbi and Tayt were very knowledgeable and we were in good hands the whole time we were out on the water. Our small group paddled about 3 miles to a secret location on a remote beach to look for fossils for about 1-1/2 hours and we found a bunch! Close to 100 sharks teeth! My teen and I loved it! So much fun! I highly recommend this group in general, we have gone on a few tours with them and had a blast every time. Bull’s Island Ferry, another shelling beach beach drop, Shem Creek kayaking, and boat rides. We have been coming to this area for years visiting my parents and we try to take tours with this group often.
