Shem Creek Park

Historic Shem Creek is one of the most iconic spots in Charleston and is known for its shrimp boats, seafood restaurants and wildlife. Bottlenose dolphins frequent this creek and will often breach just feet away from your kayak. In the summers, manatees call Shem Creek home and loggerhead turtles will occasionally pop above the surface. As you pass by the shrimp boats and oyster-lined marshes, you see Charleston Harbor and the Holy City Skyline. The Netflix show Outer Banks films on Shem Creek and your guide can show you familiar places where Pogues hang out!

Extremely accommodating! At first, we had booked the early am sunrise tour that left from Isle of Palms however we found out that our dog could not be left alone in the hotel as she would bark when cleaning people would be next door. They graciously switched it so we could do a rental instead of a tour, that way our dog could go along. It was made for 2pm later that day, then afternoon storms popped up all afternoon, so yet again they switched it to 5:45 the golden hour rental. Despite all the crazy changes, we really enjoyed our time- Shem creek was beautiful! and we are grateful that they were able to accomodate us :) highly recommended!

The Shem Creek 3 hour morning tour was a great way to experience the waterways and nature up close. Our guide, Tayt, was fantastic! He shared his love of birds and nature with us and we learned a lot! Tayt was also very patient (even when I lost my paddle) and gave us some helpful kayaking tips. This was a fun, memorable experience! Thank you!

Don't hesitate! LOVED the Shem Creek location! We've tried several other Kayak tour companies and this was by far the best. We just needed a few hour rental for a couples group and it was awesome. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, they provided a map which no other company does, told us just where to go to see dolphins and were on the right side of the water so to speak to grab a drink and lunch right after our tour ended. 10 out of 10.
