An incredible experience to backpack into the Grand Canyon and embrace the journey along the way. Originally booked the R2R hike, but North Rim was closed so this trip was now Mathers Campground, South Kaibab Trail, Phantom, Havaupai Gardens, Bright Angel Trail. 4 days and 3 nights of stunning scenery and adventure!!
I cannot recommend Discovery Treks enough! Keenan was our guide and Phil and Jimmy were our drivers. These guys are so passionate for what they do! Keenan was so helpful, supportive and listened to the groups needs when it got tough. He cooked some delicious meals along the way, 3 meals a day! All fresh and healthy. He may even whip out his “KFC” the last day for you if you are lucky.
Some of the meals were charcuterie board, egg bacon hash scramble, fajitas, mixed rice, tuna melts, burritos, oatmeal and even coffee each morning. True five star service.
This trip was a great value and focussed on quality. The transportation was seamless from pick up and drop off.
Tips for your trip:
1. Break in your boots! Going downhill your knees and feet will hurt if you have wiggle room.
2. Pack only what you really need
3. Practice your sleep setup if you can.
4. Sun hoodies will save you from the balmy heat of the day.
5. Train everyday, the climb out is intense.
6. If you have fear of heights, don’t worry the trail is very wide for the most part.
BOOK your trip with this team for an amazing Grand Canyon adventure!
