Curious about Portland's history with railroads, fires, wars, famous poets and Hollywood producers? Join us for a Walk Through Time! This tour begins on Commercial Street and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland's history since 1632.

Some of the locations we may feature on your tour include; the lobster statue, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the Abyssinian Church, the U.S. Customs House and more.

***Tour duration is two "ish" hours, based on guest engagement and pace of the group. Planning on 2.5 hours for arriving early to check-in and make it back to your vehicle post tour is recommended.

This historical tour was both entertaining and informative! Our guide shared many interesting facts and colorful stories about Maine’s past and the events that shaped Portland today. The guide answered all of our questions and offered suggestions for local restaurants and other activities. I would recommend this tour and guide to those visiting the area!

We love to book walking tours whenever we visit a new city for the first time & we were worried that this weekend’s snow storm in Portland would result in the tour being cancelled (understandably so!). Tyler, our tour guide, braved the cold & snow to give my husband & me the BEST tour around Portland- full of history, recommendations & stories about the area. The tour even ended with a sweet treat at a spot we were hoping to try while in town. We learned so much on the tour & we can’t wait to come back to Portland for more. Thank you SO much!!!
