I totally enjoyed the Hop On Hop Off. With all the news about the crime on the subways, this was definitely the way to go. We started at Times Square (M&M store), we purchased the downtown loop, be sure to specify downtown or uptown, and road up top of the bus to Little Italy/Chinatown. Got back on after lunch and just enjoyed the ride back to Times Square. Also, didn't wait too long for the bus. Due to timing, its all we could fit in. Next trip, I would purchase a 2 day pass. Our driver, Harry, I believe, was informative, helpful at stops and very pleasant. One suggestion for downtown loop, sit on the left side. Got hit with a tree branch on the forehead on the West Side highway...yikes! Also, after we purchased the ticket, the line was around the corner, so we walked to stop #2 and got on. Not too bad.

Disappointed with this service. We paid $225 and were unable to ride the whole route to due to lack of busses for the amount of people using. We queued for 40 minutes at Battery Park. We didn’t even manage to ride the whole route before being kicked off at stop 10. Driver told us to run down to stop 1 as we needed to get back to stop 4 where we first got on. So we ran, with the children in tow only to be told the day service had been finished and that we had to make our own way back to our first stop closest to our hotel. We rode the majority of our journey on the bottom deck with no air con, no views or opportunity to take photos because of the mesh over the windows. We managed to ride on the top deck for all of 1 stop! Completely oversold and not enough busses to do the whole tour. Definitely not a hop on, hop off service!

Long wait for buses, terrible commentary, felt like we paid $60 each just to sit in a hot traffic jam and wasted hours of our trip. Don’t bother!
