This was such a cool experience! We went in late November, it was choppy and cold but definitely worth it (I would go when it's warmer/more calm if you don't have a lot of kayaking experience) We were trying to be realistic because what you see depends on conditions and time of year. Taking that into consideration we saw more than expected. We saw bioluminescent dinoflagellates and comb jellies. We were also able to see many planets/stars and the Milky Way was visible. Our guide, Jacob, was very knowledgeable and fun. He told silly jokes and shared lots of cool information about the stars, history of the area and about what we were seeing. Note: We launched at the Beacon 42 boat ramp. It's somewhat remote so make sure you gas up and have everything you need before going out there. (My gas light came on as we got there so that was a little scary as it was 15 -18 minutes from a gas station) 10/10 would do it again!

Thank you so much for sharing your review with us. Jacob is an amazing guide who loves what he does and it shows. It's always great to receive such positive feedback from our guests. We do hope you come back and visit us again so you can try to see our summer bioluminescence too!

My husband, myself and our 6 year old son had a great time! We had Brandon as our guide and he was AMAZING! Not only did he have great “Dad” jokes, but he has so much knowledge of the nature around us as well as everything along Merritt Island, from NASA to old history, Brandon knew it all. We found some amazing Cone Jelly’s and we saw birds and other wildlife. But I think the most amazing was just being out in the mangroves and flats at night. It was such a fun experience and we will be coming back again to see what more we can find! Thank you BK and Brandon for the amazing family memories!

The sunset sea kayak adventure combined with the nighttime bioluminescence tour was amazing! I couldn’t wait to post pictures of the gorgeous sunset (and a double rainbow behind us!!) that was breathtaking as we headed out to Bird Island and circled it… our skilled guide named Ryan was ever educating us on the ecology of the area the protective reserve, the feathered residents of Bird Island, & science of the bioluminescence we would see you later that night. We made our way back for a quick break then took off in the dark through the mangrove canals winding around the inlet, observing all kinds of avian nightlife seeking the elusive comb jellies & dinoflagellates… and of course avoiding the reflective eyes belonging to the gators (we saw no gators). I highly recommend this activity and want to do it again when the bio luminescence activity is more plentiful but this was totally fun & safe!
