There were six of us in our tour which as led by Alex. Four of us were repeat visitors from Urban Adventures (DUMBO) and enjoyed it so much we wanted to continue the adventure. So the four of us signed up for this tour the next day and were joined by a couple from Singapore - Accidental Tourists as one of us knighted us. Our tour started at noon - and we both ate our way through six or seven of Brooklyn's ethnic food stores and gained a lot of history in the process. The experience was simply wonderful. We ended up with a walking tour of the Brownstones in one of the neighborhoods and ate at an ice cream shop where we all indulged with Egg Cremes (my first taste; delicious). A warning - on both days of our adventures, we were too full to eat dinner. Not a problem at all; just to let you know about the volume of food you end up eating. Alex gave explicit instructions to catch the F train back to Manhattan - which we did. Problem was that the train was mis-alphebetized and we actually took the G train to Queens. But New York's multiple ethnic groups took us under their wings and gave explicit instructions to actually return to Manhattan. So, we really were Accidental Tourists, but ones with multiple smiles on our faces and memories of an extraordinary day.

An excellent and informative walking tour themed around the fabulous Brooklyn artisan food and drink producers, but giving much more. The leisurely stroll took in tastings in a good number of shops and the odd bar, covering a very wide range of cuisines, all absolutely first class. Our guide Chris also gave very entertaining and informative commentary on the history, architecture and life in delightful genteel Brooklyn. Our tour started at midday, which gave us enough time to walk the Brooklyn bridge from Manhattan and another 30 minutes to the start of the tour. It is of course possible to travel directly on the Subway.
