We were unprepared. I booked this thinking it was going to be flat land desert buggy riding and it was pretty rough terrain for 4 virgin UTV riders from Minnesota (and on a Saturday no less)! We were scheduled to have a GUIDED tour with both ATV or UTV and they were short on guides so we decided to go together in a UTV solo--no guide. We trekked out to the Indian Ruins and we stopped along the way to enjoy some of the really cool features the desert has to offer. We were dirty, dusty and sometimes getting that baby up to 30MPH. Then, on the way back to home base...we did a thing. While I was driving, we took on a pretty steep hill and I tipped that buggy straight up!! Apparently that is not easy to do. No damage to us or the UTV---But of course it would happen to me and my girlfriends because that is basically how we roll (literally). The entire weekend was a "I have never seen that before" kinda weekend. Thanks to a guide who was behind us with another group they un-tipped us and we all determined that we were safe and sound and had an amazing story to share, along with some insane bruises.. The desert tried to take us, but we won! It was a great experience overall, but don't underestimate the terrain and the power of the UTV or ATV. Safety first. Oh, and if you don't get pie at Rock Springs Café, don't even bother going out there... It was literally a slice of heaven!
