My husband and I had friends visiting from Boston with their 12 and 14 years old girls. We booked the Best of the City 2 1/2 hour tour for the 1:30pm sailing on a Friday. I purchased the tickets online which I highly recommend so you don't have to wait on line at all. We purchased some food and beer/wine on the trip and enjoyed a beautiful cruise. You can't beat the views you get of the amazing buildings that make up the skyline! We loved the full trip around the entire Manhattan island to give you a glimpse into actual green areas with lots of trees that you wouldn't think the city would have. Totally enjoyed this trip!

Be aware that airline security can take a bit of time. Much better to book for an early sailing, only a small queue, later in the day it was 6 lanes long. Great views, stop off at Liberty Island, you can get on any other boat if you want time, just make sure it's going to right place as they come from New Jersey too. New Museum being built. Ellis Island Museum was really good but you can't walk right around the Island.
