Rivière de cristal

Cette excursion consiste à trouver les meilleurs endroits pour les lamantins et à utiliser nos kayaks transparents pour vous offrir la meilleure vue possible sans vous mouiller ! Crystal River est connue comme la «capitale mondiale des lamantins». Lors de cette visite, nous voulons que nos invités découvrent les lamantins dans leur habitat naturel. Crystal River est alimentée par des dizaines de sources naturelles, ce qui en fait un point chaud pendant les mois « les plus froids » de la Floride. Entre novembre et mars, des centaines de lamantins migrent vers les sources pour chercher refuge et rester au chaud. Wonderful couple of hours kayaking on the calm Crystal River and springs, led by Connor! He was a fun, friendly and knowledgeable guide. Kayaks were great, he gave us time to swim if we wanted but we were a small adult group so not really needed. Didn't see any manatees unfortunately but Connor had warned us that the migration season had not really started so we would be fortunate if we did see one or two. This didn't detract at all from a lovely afternoon on crystal clear water in a gorgeous nature setting.

Our family of 11, ranging from 9yrs old to 64yrs old had tour at Crystal River earlier today. All of us thoroughly enjoyed every single minute. We paddled to the springs in our clear Kayaks, it was such a rare experience. The sights on the way were beautiful, some of us even saw a few Matinees!! Shade was our guide, he was lovely, such a friendly guy. Taking time to speak to all of us, asking us questions and genuinely interested in what we said. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the whole area. Once we got to the springs we chilled for a while and got to swim in the water, It was breathtaking!! The colour of the water was unreal! It was cold but a nice cold to cool you down. I thought I would struggle to get back into the kayak but it’s easier than you think (just not very pretty!! Haha!) This is our 3rd week in Florida and we all agreed this has been, by far, our favourite out of everything we have done. The only negative is that it wasn’t long enough, we could’ve stayed at the springs for hours upon hours!! Shade, thank you! If you are near our part of the woods when you come to Scotland please get in touch, we will help you hunt for the Loch Ness Monster and teach you some more Doric!! Thank you also too Brittany, who answered all my questions via email almost immediately and was very helpful when I was booking our tour. If we are ever fortunate enough to come back to Florida then this tour will be at the top of our list to do!
