Dogsled and Reindeer Day Trip to Borealis Basecamp

We work exclusively with local, passionate mushers who view their dog teams as their family, and you will have the chance to understand this incredible sport on your hourlong ride through the snowy forest. You will ride on a genuine dogsled, either seated or standing, as the team of 8 dogs swings through the forest with you and your guide at a comfortable but thrilling pace. You will also have the chance to see the dog kennels, and a replica of a dog-sled race checkpoint, where the competitive mushers stop for fuel and rest on their long winter races.

On your reindeer tour, our experienced reindeer handlers will introduce you to the herd of reindeer at Borealis Basecamp, and you can feed, meet, and take pictures with these incredible animals.

Dog sledding and reindeer encounter is a once in a lifetime cool experience. Money can't buy. So book here.

Dog sledding was an amazing experience! Pretty cool to walk a reindeer too! Overall not super impressed with the "base camp" might be nice if you were staying there in an igloo to see the Aurora, but as a day trip was less than amazing. People were great tour guides were awesome. Mom traveling with 9year old son.

The dogs thing was spectacular!! Reindeers can improve it; They don't have the rafts because they had not cleaned them, the bicycles are very big and they only have 3 and the voucher they give you for food is worthless, the restaurant has no variety and is expensive. There isn't much to see so paying for the whole day isn't worth it; but in general the attention is excellent.

We have taken this to heart and have made new improvements to our day trip complimentary activities, such as snow hill sledding, cross country skiing, and we are also now offering ice skate rentals for our new ice skating rink!
