Marcus took us on a fantastic family trip down the Animas river. We had quite the group with 11 of in total, the youngest at 8 years old, and a number of first timers. Marcus was awesome and dialed the trip in perfectly. Everyone had an awesome time. I highly recommend Mountain Rivers Rafting if you are in the area and looking for a great time on the water!

Bama and Rosie were our guides on this trip, and were FANTASTIC!! It was tame enough for our not-so-sure companions, yet had enough rapids to keep the rest of us entertained. Fun for the entire family! The company was easy to work with, and all the employees were very knowledgeable about the river and surrounding areas, including additional activities for the rest of our trip. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

ANDREW was our guide and he was outstanding. Extremely knowledgeable, and upbeat. He took the time to make sure everyone was comfortable and excited. First time rafter with children and other previous rafters. The lower animas was a great first adventure with the kids but if you are looking for a little more adrenaline then plan to do both the upper and lower (unfortunately the upper was shut down due to wildfires). Any return visit gets you 10% off your next adventure.

We are lucky to be just one of three companies that are permitted to run the Upper Animas River. Another great way to make the family friendly stretch more exciting is to do it in an inflatable kayak.
