East Village Noho Food Tour

Aperçu
Pay for the tour only, then decide which food items you want to buy. This is the best deal in NYC.

With an ethnically diverse community, one can find virtually every type of cuisine here. On our tour we will savor a delicious array of cuisines and flavors including: Greek-American Split pea Soup with fried croutons, delicious classic tasting NYC pizza, authentic Dolmas (Grape Leaves) Ukrainian varenyky (vegetable filled cabbage rolls) and perogis, delicious egg cream drinks, up to 8 different flavors of Korean Dumplings, and Italian pastries such as cannoli and sfogliatelle. Don’t worry – we’ll walk off the calories as we explore the history and culture of the East Village, from the Dutch colony of the 1600s, to the 1800s when the neighborhood was known as Kleindeutschland, (Little Germany). We'll also see famous locales from the counter-culture scene of the 1950s and ‘60s to the punk rock explosion of the 1970s and 1980s.

If a guest purchases 1 of every item, they will spend $11.

À quoi s'attendre
1
Cooper Union Foundation Building
See the statue dedicated to the oldest man to ever run for President (yes, he still has the title!). Learn about the speech given by Abraham Lincoln at Cooper Union, and why a once free tuition is now significantly higher.
2
The Public Theater
See the historic public theater where "Hair," "Hamilton," "A Chorus Line," and more have debuted.
3
McSorley's Old Ale House
The oldest Ale house in NYC. We won't be drinking in here (it's only 1 in the afternoon!) but we'll learn the complete history, and it's only three minute walk from the tours end!

My partner and I enjoyed a two person food tour with Jon Noto around East Village/Noho in January 2025. Despite the cold weather, we had a wonderful time with Jon and found him to be very informative on the local food and culture of the city. Each location was thoughtfully included in the tour and all of the food was 10/10!! This tour was a highlight of our trip, especially the pub he brought us to, which we returned to on the following day. It was amazing to visit these hidden gems, meet local vendors and live like a local for a day. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an exciting, informative, unique and fun-filled experience in New York City. A big thank you to Jon and we look forward to taking another tour with City Shuffles on our next trip to the city!

it was easily one of the best experiences of my trip! Jon is knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate. We stopped at several incredible spots, each thoughtfully chosen to showcase the history of the area. I loved how Jon not only explained the dishes, but also shared stories about the area as went. There are definitely a few places that I will go back to! An amazing tour by an excellent guide. I strongly recommend this tour!

Great info, conveyed in an entertaining way, and delicious food. A lot of fun facts about local theaters. The food is also very filling for a great price (when you buy one of each item). Highly recommend!
