Amelia Island is full of rich history, and is the only location in America to have flown 8 independent flags. It’s rich history takes us on a journey through time including the Timucuan Indians who were our first inhabitants as far back as 2000 BC. The flags tell the story of religious struggle and persecution, the effect of Christianity disallowing any other God to be worshiped. The devastating impact of the Revolutionary war on the island and rebels acting in the name of higher power. Smugglers, slave traders and pirates have all had a part to play in the evolution of this Islands growth. This fascinating tour will take you on a journey through time and show you how such a small barrier island has had a major and little know impact on the history of America. Come and join us on a incredible passage through hundreds of years of incredible historical facts.

TOTALLY AWESOME!!! Daniel, our guide, certainly knows “his stuff”! He was super friendly and super knowledgeable!!! His ability to keep you focused with “wait and sees” kept you waiting for the rest of the story!!! I learned so much about the history of the island!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

There is so much incredible history and not just some local stuff that's of interest, but world history that helped to shape the course of early American development! Our guide was fascinating! We hung on to every word and learned a large amount of history on a fairly short trip that went by fast. Daniel was highly informed and had obviously studied and knew so much. It was the best tour we’ve taken.
