It’s rich history takes us on a journey through time including the Timucuan Indians who were our first inhabitants as far back as 2000 BC. The devastating impact of the Revolutionary war on the island and rebels acting in the name of higher power. Smugglers, slave traders and pirates have all had a part to play in the evolution of this Islands growth. The eight flags tour takes you on a historical journey through all of the locations that those flags have flown over the islands incredible history. The only location in America to have had this number of independent flags. You will travel through the historic downtown district and out to the original Fernandina. On our journey we will cover each of the flags, the period from which they flew and the historical significance behind all of those dates from a historical perspective.

TOTALLY AWESOME!!! Daniel, our guide, certainly knows “his stuff”! He was super friendly and super knowledgeable!!! His ability to keep you focused with “wait and sees” kept you waiting for the rest of the story!!! I learned so much about the history of the island!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Our guide was fascinating! We hung on to every word and learned a large amount of history on a fairly short trip that went by fast. Daniel was highly informed and had obviously studied and knew so much. It was the best tour we’ve taken.
