My wife set me up with a guided tour of the Field of Dreams Home. She wasn't really interested, and felt that our four year old son would not be, either. When we turned in to the driveway of the property, a local police officer followed us. We had stopped to take a pic by the sign, and he pulled past us. Then he backed up. I was nervous! I lowered my window, and he lowered his window. I was thinking, "What did I do now?" Instead, he offered to take a pic of our family at the sign!
We drove to the house, and found one car. I guess it's not a big draw in April, with no corn. My wife decided to purchase tour tickets for herself and our son. We met our guide, Clarence, and walked in. He was extremely knowledgeable about the house and the making of the movie. I, like most Field of Dreams fans, can quote the whole movie. Clarence filled us in with really interesting tidbits that I didn't know. Clarence, for me, was the highlight of the tour.
I highly recommend the Field of Dreams Movie Site to anyone. The people at the site are as fun and interesting as the movie. We will go back - next time, I'll be sure to wait for the corn to grow!
