Visite à pied du matin de Frankly Charleston

Aperçu
TOUR REFLECT

The truthful acknowledgment of African American contributions to these United States of America since its founding, which is still in limbo or in denial compared to the racism that is wide spread throughout this country for the sake of its southern heritage, in step with keeping it a tradition? Why can’t Americans get with the time?

We break down the other Charleston and the stereo typical mind set of the institution of slavery in this country or shall I say in the Low Country Charles Towne. Were we GULLAH? Or were we AFRICANS? What was the reward for not running? How wealthy were the free People of Color?

This guided tour is fantastic! Frank gave an extremely insightful and truthful tour of Charleston’s history - stories often untold by the history books. He is hugely charismatic and we learned a lot as we walked around Charleston about the contribution of African Americans to Charleston. Jack and Katie

The best historians have a storyteller’s sensibilities. They understand timing, provide the right amount of details, know how to present the information in such a way that challenges the listener and respects their intelligence and of course are entertaining. Mr. Williams exemplifies this to the highest degree. His passion was contagious as he showed the group pieces of living history all through the city. Highly recommend.

A “must do” If you want to know the real history of Charleston. Frank provides the stories of black Charleston and puts them in the context of how the city and culture was built, based on the enslaved people who lived here (most who were kidnapped to put it bluntly). It’s a small group walking tour with lots of interaction if you have an inquisitive group. Very educational. I was only aware of about 10% of what Frank highlighted. Frank also recommended additional reading and some black-owned restaurants (great soul food!).
