Staying in Sedona we decided to drive to Williams to take the Grand Canyon Railway to see the Grand Canyon. An easy drive to the take off point and a delightful, traffic free trip to the southern rim, where private moderately sized buses awaiting to take us to three scenic views.
The train was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. Each car has it's own guide for the entire trip. Ours kept us amused with jokes and tibits about the area, train and canyon.
I had trouble booking on line and called their phone number and received very useful help and advice with booking. We booked too late to go to the buffet, but we were fine having lunch on our own. In the end I think we prefered it.
Be warned though, with desperate outlaws in the area, you might be robbed on the train. (HaHa)
