It was a good experience. Lots of entertainment and information as the trip progressed. The ride felt safe and secure, and was on time. My eleven year old great grand son also enjoyed the trip very much.

Recent visit to Arizona to finally see the Grand Canyon and chose the railway over other alternatives. This turned out to be a great choice. Whilst our seats in the dome cabin were mediocre you were able to move to a first class lounge cabin and this was outstanding. Met and chatted to some lovely people and the hostess was a treat telling stories, cracking jokes and overall providing outstanding service which made the 2 hours 15 minutes pass quite quickly. Food/snacks provided were good and whilst we don’t drink there is a bar in the carriage for those that like to imbibe. Cannot rate the train trip and service higher and would recommend this as a great way to visit the canyon.

It is obvious intentional effort was put into creating an entertaining, unique, family friendly and wild west atmosphere for the customers. Family friendly but also good for the solo traveler. Once at the Grand Canyon, I took the bus tour offered through the Grand Canyon Railway company. It was worth it to be able to see more ground before taking the return train. Definitely do this. It runs 364 days a year.
