Our whale watching excursion with Eclipse Tours was truly the highlight of our 20th family reunion on Orcas Island! Owners, Dan and Denise went above and beyond to make this years reunion - one to remember for many years to come. A clean and comfortable boat staffed with very knowledgable naturalists - educated, informed and entertained our group of 15, for hours. Eclipse's 20+ years of experience provided great views of killer whales, eagles, seals, mountain sheep and other sea life. Our first trip to the San Juan Islands was a huge success thanks to the helpful hand and suggestions of Denise. She coordinated the local printing of souvenir reunion coffee mugs and both dining recommendations made in the East Sound area were fantastic! Dan and Denise know their community and it's evident they are well respected - when it comes to all the choices of whale watching tours available. A first class boat and staff, exceeded all of our expectations. I highly recommend the Eclipse Whale Watching Tour and appreciated their very friendly and personal service!

I live locally and have been on three different whale watching boats in the area, and this was by far the best. Both the naturalists and the captain were extremely knowledgeable and personable. They made the trip great. One of the passengers was in a wheel chair and they went out of their way to make sure she got safely on the boat, even as the wake from the ferry shook the dock. The cabin inside was more comfortable than the other boats I've been on. The captain got information that the whales were up into Canada further than he had ever taken a trip before, but he went anyway so that we would all have the chance to see whales. We got to see a rare group of six transients, a mother and her various offspring that she was training to hunt. My parents who were visiting from Michigan said it made their trip! Thanks eclipse charters!

We were on the Orcas Express on May 25, 2011 and the whale watching was amazing. We encountered around 30 transient whales, an eagle, and a very large number of steller seals and sea lions. Of course the weather was rainy but we were nice and warm inside Capt. Dan's boat enjoying hot chocolate and coffee in between whale sightings. There was a much smaller boat which I would call a raft that was doing whale watching but there is no way I would have got out in the water in that raft. It was called the Prince of Whales but give me the larger boat any day. Those people had to be freezing to death when we were nice and warm. Hats off to Captain Dan!!!!!
