Half Day rafting trips on the Lower Animas are incredibly popular for busy schedules. You'll get a couple hours on the water with the best rapid sections.

We arrived at Mild to wild and were fitted for our life jackets and equipment by the tour guides. We all loaded on an old school bus for a short ride through town to the Animas River. The guides gave a short lesson on rafting and out we went. The guide was really professional and pointed out a lot of the history of Durango as we floated down the river. This is a Very Mild river for rafting, (perfect for kids) only one small section of rapids. It was more like a leisurely float down the river with a good friend. Our guide was concerned for our safety the whole trip and was a lot of fun. All the guides seemed to be happy and knowledgeable. Would use them again

We had a wonderful guide - Rio - he really knew the area and shared what he knew. We were three adults and had a great trip on the lower Animus. The rating was 2-3 in late June, turns out we hardly had to lift an oar!! In retrospect, we should have done the upper Animus. This was a trip any family could do with no concerns for safety. Lunch was amazingly efficient and tasty.

Thanks so much for your review of our Lower Animas 3/4th day trip. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with Rio. This is our family mild trip, and the Upper Animas is a big jump up as it is one of the most challenging commercially adventurous trips in the US. We also have trips in between - the San Miguel River and Piedra River trips nearby. Thanks for choosing Mild to Wild.

The half day white water rafting trip was worth every penny. Out guide, Rio, was skilled, friendly and knowledgeable. He kept us entertained with his knowledge of the area and rafting in general. I would very definitely go rafting with them again.
