There is no other word to describe the Harlem tour than Amazing. Neal was the guide and made the tour very enjoyable and very real, walking and hearing his stories you will be able to feel the real Harlem heritage.

This is a great walking tour of Harlem, lots of fun and the use of music and video gives a real level of depth to the whole tour. The tour guide is full of energy (I mean FULL) and acts as a great ambassador for Harlem as he guides you though the streets and their rich history. He will take you on a tour of some of the most important locations in Harlem throughout the civil rights movement at each point explaining their significance and the key people involved. All in all we had a great time while visiting and we're looking forward to taking some of the other tours on our next visits. I can't recommend it enough!

This tour and its guide (Neil aka Mister Harlem) oozes authenticity and passion. And, having read a number of other reviews (after taking the tour), it clearly makes sense to expect the unexpected, as it seems that every tour will bring unique experiences. Given I was the only person signed up for my tour, this made them even more special. In addition to a number of the Malcolm X and MLK related sights, we dropped into the Paris Blues Jazz Club, where we chatted to 81 year old owner, Sam Hargress, who opened the club 50 years ago, and then a book talk and signing by Ilyasah Shabbaz, author daughter of Malcolm X, where I also met one of the "Central Park Five". If I was here for longer I would definitely take one of his other tours also.
