I made reservations for this tour for friends visiting from abroad. We've all been to NYC several times but I thought a food tour would be a fun and unique experience. The tour group was just the 3 of us and our tour guide, Matt, so we were able to relax, enjoy the tour and catch up with one another. It was nice to walk around my old stomping grounds and see it in a new little light. Matt painted a picture of what Chelsea and the Flat Iron district was like years ago. In between the different historical stops we stopped into 'hidden' restaurants, learned a bit about the history and sampled their food. We really enjoyed ourselves and found the tour to be a great experience. My friends loved the food and were stuffed by the end of tour. On a side note, I have several dietary restrictions and Matt went out of his way to try and accommodate me. I appreciate his efforts, he really went above and beyond. Although, I was not able to eat at all the stops, one stop made a dish especially for me. That was awesome! Thanks Matt! Great tour for foodies and history lovers.

More than “just a tour”, this intimate experience includes hidden history, local food favorites, sightseeing and conversing! I’ve been to Manhattan more than a dozen times over my lifetime and every time I go, I make it a point to do new and different things than my last visit, and yet, I am always yearning for a deeper connection with the city. About a month ago I booked this tour and invited a few friends who live in the city, but did not know each other. From the initial reservation confirmation to the reminder messages, Matt made sure to tend to the details. The selected venues were Chelsea staples, yet diverse and ultimately filling. I did not leave hungry! I appreciated the ease of the experience as Matt tended all of the minutia, allowing our small group to converse and enjoy the experience. You will depart the tour with that feeling of contentment associated with good food and good conversation. This experience will deepen your knowledge of Chelsea as well as introduce you to amazing ‘local’ food favorites. As the experience limits tour size, this is a smaller group than your typical tour, allowing you real time to visit with new people, to ask questions, and to savor in the moment, making it ideal for out-of-towners and locals alike! This tour definitely filled my void this time around!

I had a great time on this food tour. The tour guide Matt provided us with intriguing historical facts of Chelsea along with delicious foods from unique restaurants. I also liked the small group atmosphere which made it easy to meet people. Matt answered all my questions and was attentive throughout the whole tour. I highly recommend Hidden NYC.
