The leader had great information and passion. They made decisions in real time, adjusting for the bigger waves. We were running behind and they ran our belongings back to the shop when we caught up with the group.

In retrospect, we should have realized that kayaking in January without wet suits would be freezing cold. That's on us, but the tour was difficult to hear, the group was too big, it was very difficult to keep the kayaks in a clustered group to hear the tour guides without banging into each other and we saw only a very limited amount of sea life (the shadows of a few leopard sharks, many cormorants and sea lions) most of which can easily be seen from shore. The weather wasn't right to be able to go in the caves either because the waves were too big and it would have been dangerous. It was overall just not a fun experience unfortunately. The tour guides were nice and from the bits I could hear, they were knowledgeable.

There was a lot of just waiting around. With about 30 people in the group and 3 guides it took a long time to get everyone launched and later to get everyone back on shore. We were told to arrive 45 minutes early which just meant more waiting. We didn't even get close to the sea caves; you can see them just as well from on shore. We saw some dolphins but no other sea life. The air and water were quite cool in December (upper 50's) but paddling kept me warm enough without a wet suit. However, I got cold during all the waiting around.
