Never a good sign when they let you know as you board that they’re recommending everyone take sea-sick meds because we will be facing 8 ft swells. A stormy, miserable day…the trip should have been canceled rather than aborted, as is what ended up happening. People were soaking wet, being blown and thrown around, and many were very nauseated and vomiting. Clearly unpleasant. The captain did his best to keep us safe, thank God. A few people were fortunate to see orcas, but I was blocked into my seat by a family that had placed their bags at my feet and their sleeping toddler on the 2 seats next to me. Another reason why my personal experience was unpleasant. When the captain abandoned the effort to reach the fjords and glaciers, he tried to continue to show points of interest within the confines of Resurrection Bay…but it was already too late…people were already sick and uncomfortable. We finished the trip 2 hours early and they gave everyone a partial refund. We had stayed 2 extra night beyond our cruise to enjoy this additional piece of Alaska. It was an expensive disappointment.
