We were so excited about the plantation owners dinner, It certainly looked amazing on their website with the video showing the food and description's of the "Island fresh dishes" and "fresh catch of the day" certainly for $458.00 (including the show) it had to be fabulous, Right? WRONG. possibly the worst meal we have had in years. it notably was cafeteria grade food, at best. The appetizer was the best of the "4 coarse meal" the salad consisted of wilted greens that appeared to of been prepared in advance. (way in advance)
The fresh catch of the day, looked like a frozen piece of fish that had been microwaved with some fancy glaze on top to cover up this sad excuse of the word "fresh"
Our dessert, banana cream pie, tasted like it had been stored uncovered in the refrigerator for days.
The best part of our meal, Sam our waiter.
We spoke with Mark the manager, he apologized and said he would pass it along.
Ya ya !
Now for the show, we walked in and had no idea that there would be 200-300 people, they contract with the cruise ships and bus people in by the hundreds to do the buffet and show. We spoke with some locals who were sitting behind us, their granddaughter was in the show, and they said the buffet was horrible and the amount of people made it difficult to move around.
They recommended we do the SMITH'S Luau.
The bright spot of our evening was the show. I do not want to take away from the dancers and the story line. It's disappointing that the remainder of the evening did not match the dedication of the performers.
