Visite des lamantins /coucher de soleil /bioluminescence

Aperçu
Experience everything the wildlife refuge has to offer with three distinct experiences packed into one three-hour tour! Launch your kayak in the daylight and surround yourself with Florida’s most-loved endangered species, West Indian Manatees! Sit back while the gentle giants roll, sniff, and nuzzle all around you. Dolphins are also active this time of day as they wrangle their dinner in the adjacent cove.

Next, head out to Bird Island, a federally protected rookery, to watch hundreds of birds soar in overhead. Ibis, herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills and more all glide in their flocks to nest for the night. Be lulled into serenity by the gently rocking kayak as the sun descends for the night in the pinks, oranges, and reds of sunset.

Finally, the tour culminates in the season’s bioluminescent experience, whether it be summer bioluminescence, winter comb jelly bioluminescence, or a star-studded moonlit sky.

My tour guide was Brian, and he was on time, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Since I visited in early March, we did not get to see any manatees or dolphins, but we did see a few cone jellies and a gator! Observing bird island, the sunset, and the stars were my favorite part of the tour. I also got to experience kayaking at night, and it's definitely wonderful getting to hear all the sounds at night. I really enjoyed this tour!

My non profit “Waters of Hope” came down with 2 ladies for a bucket list experience and we got that and more. Staff are wonderful and knowledgeable.

Highly recommend the Mondo Combo tour. This was a highlight of our trip to the area. Though the excursion is over 3 hours, it's suitable for any level--we're experienced kayakers but the beginners in our group had no problem. The variety offered by this tour is not to be missed: first kayaking through lagoons to see the manatees, then across the river to Bird Island to see (and hear) thousands of pelicans and egrets, with a gorgeous sunset in the background, and finally back into hidden lagoons in search of comb jellies, which everyone found. I wouldn't have wanted to miss any part of the tour. Our guide (Bob) was full of information and good humor. Very professionally run.
