Le musée Métropolitain d'art

Avec pas moins de 2 millions d'œuvres d'art et d'artefacts à portée de main, le Met présente des objets de la Grèce antique et de l'Égypte ainsi que de l'art moderne d'Europe et d'ailleurs. Au cours de cette visite, vous commencerez par la somptueuse Grande Salle avant de vous diriger vers les galeries les plus importantes du musée. Dans la galerie de l'Europe médiévale, vous découvrirez le Studiolo du palais ducal ainsi que l'armurerie portée par Henri VIII. Musée américain d'histoire naturelle

Après une pause pour le déjeuner, rendez-vous au Musée américain d'histoire naturelle où vous ferez un voyage dans le temps et dans l'espace. Les 33 millions d'objets du musée sont répartis dans 28 bâtiments différents. Vous commencerez par apprendre l'histoire du musée dans la majestueuse rotonde Roosevelt avant de découvrir comment les dioramas sont créés tout en explorant les mammifères africains géants de l'Akeley Hall. This was by far one of our favorite moments/things we have done! Mark was absolutely fabulous! He was so attentive to what our interests were, and anything we REALLY wanted to see. His energy and passion for these museums is so evident and contagious. He is able to illustrate the story of the artifacts and pieces so well, in a way/language that we can understand. We did the MET & the Natural History museums in one day, and it was a long day (wear comfy sneakers & bring water/snacks!) and certainly not for everyone, but we LOVED it. I feel like it is important to really understand that you WILL NOT see everything in both of these museums in one day - it's just not possible. Working with Mark allowed us to learn about not only the things within the museums but also the history of the structures, the families that funded them, etc. - You don't get that without a tour. The only downside of our tour is we went the day before the Met Gala (didn't realize this until Mark checked in with us the day before), so there were parts closed that he wanted to take us to see. Oh well! We will just come back and see more next time! Thank you, Mark!!
