We enjoyed our visit to the village for performance, bush walk and hangi dinner. The young crew doing the performances were into it and proud of their culture. We learned a few things and found it interesting and pleasant, not hokey or tacky as some cultural performances can feel. I found the food really disappointing. There was a seafood chowder that was inedible and made with fake crab and a very floury texture - this cannot possibly be a traditional dish. The traditional foods may have been prepared as such but they were very bland, no vegetables were offered, and the coffee was instant. With a little more attention to the food quality, this could have been a five star experience for us.
