Castle Valley is the poster child for Western landscapes, and you’ve probably already seen it somewhere in a John Wayne movie, TV show, or a commercial or two. And if somehow you have, in fact, never laid eyes on Castle Valley before, you’re not going forget it once you do!

This serene section of the Colorado River moseys through a big beautiful valley lined with monuments. Along the way are some of Utah’s most impressive geologic features like Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, the Priest and Nuns, and more.

As for the waters here along the Colorado River, it stays pretty warm from late spring to early fall. You’ll spend most of your time floating, with a few Class II rapids to cool you off along the way. Expect plenty of fascinating interpretations and fun stories from your river guide on this mild trip!

We had the best time on this excursion! Trudy, our rafting guide was so personable, friendly and fun and made the whole experience awesome!

I begged my Dad to take us white water rafting while we visiting Durango! I found Mild to Wild on google and immediately called, they were quick to help us with our reservation and explained everything we needed to do/wear for our rafting trip. We did the half day (highly recommend it!!) It was the perfect time on the water and our guide Trudy was AMAZING!! She was funny in the right moments but definitely put safety first. We had so much fun, catching up to other rafts and splashing them, to having a water fight with each other. Trudy was knowledgeable about every land mark we passed on the river and the river itself. I wouldn’t have wanted a different guide, and we will definitely be back!
