Let's start with we booked this tour with plenty of advance notice and then, 10pm the night before the tour we get a text that the start time needs to change because they don't book them at 4pm in the winter. We were coming from far and were able to move our start time to 3pm. Our guide was nice, but he didn't seem to have any set information to share with us about Monument Valley or the Navajo Nation. We asked many questions to prompt him and he knew some of the answers, but not all. He also went off on long tangents about religion or political issues and we kept having to ask him to tell us what we were seeing or the names of certain landmarks to steer him back on course. Although Monument Valley is stunning, and we would not have been able to see all of the places in our own car, our guide was more of a 'driver' than an actual guide.
