This was my 2nd hot air balloon ride - the 1st was a sunrise tour in Sedona so I thought sunset over the desert would be really great. Went with captain Al and Kyle - you must book with them - what a team. I had to board with the basket on it's side which was an adventure and then we took off very quickly. Only warning - if you expect to be in the balloon at sunset that will not happen b/c sunset then darkness happens very fast and they cannot try setting down in the darkness. Besides, after being set on the ground, everyone grabs a glass of champagne or sparkling cider and then the captain recite the ballooner's poem then we all sit down to a taste treat and have time to talk and view the sunset. It was a beautiful and exciting experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent balloon ride with Pilot Tommy and driver Steven and Nick and the rest of the flight crew from Hot Air Expeditions. It was a crisp beautiful morning and enjoyable to watch the crew get the balloon and basket set up and ready. Pilot Tommy took us to a wonderful height and pointed out key spots in the area and then took us low to glide over the saguaros and catch a glimpse of rabbits and a coyote. And not to forget after we landed, the crew set up a delicious champagne brunch (with real linens) in the desert. My husband who is afraid of heights said he would do this ride again in a heartbeat. Thank you to Pilot Tommy and Hot Air Expeditions for helping fulfill this bucket list item.

What an adventure! It was a bucket list item for the 4 of us. Thought it was going to be scary but it wasn't in the least. So calm and peaceful. The desert and mountain views were stunning. The air was crisp and clear. The staff was amazing, especially Al and Nick. We felt safe.They patiently answered all our questions with good humour. The breakfast and champagne in the desert was delicious. We highly recommend the ride to people of all ages.
