My first hot air balloon experience was awesome! The flight crew and pilot were top notch in explaining how the basket was designed, inflation and flight technique. We floated up to 5000 ft and drifted about 5 miles. The landing was gentle and the crew was there to assist. We were then served a lovely champagne breakfast.

My 22 year old son and I took the 4pm balloon flight. We both really enjoyed it! There are cut out notches on the basket that you step on to climb in. The basket held 10 people and was sectioned off into compartments that hold 2 people per compartment. Once in the air everything seemed very calm. The balloon moved very slow and felt very safe. The heat radiating from the propane source felt pretty hot but only when burning. If you're tall I would recommend you wear a hat. The ride was an hour long. They had a small plate of appetizers and champagne and cider for everyone once we landed. The crew did a great job and I would highly recommend!

Hello, It sounds like you had smooth sailing on your flight! When your in the basket, it can definitely feel like you are suspended in the sky, only to realize how far you've traveled! A hat or a light jacket to keep the heat off is also a good idea, as it will get warm when the burners occasionally flare throughout the flight. My hot air balloon expedition was a surprise to me one early morning on March 1st. We were all settled in our take-off area with our pilot, Mikey D, when we got the news it was too windy to take-off. Obviously, we were disappointed, but I'm so grateful for his decision not to fly, just for our safety. We were told to try to re-book for Saturday morning, however, my boyfriend was supposed to leave that day. With high hopes, we called and were told they were booked for Saturday morning, but gave them our names anyway just in case someone cancelled. To our luck, we were able to fly high that Saturday morning and have an experience of a lifetime. Our pilot, Al, was wonderful and has an answer for every question. Even the chase crew were wonderful and broke the ice with their up-beat attitude. I felt very safe trying to fly with Mikey D, and also Al, that I'd do it all day if I could. I'm so ready to do it again!! Thanks a ton!
