Class III/IV rapids provide excitement and a trip you will never forget. Amazing scenery, high adventure, no experience required, trips run March through October each year. Day trips meet at 9 AM and include a riverside catered lunch break at the halfway point. Short on time? Try the Afternoon Express run, meeting 3 PM daily.

4 of us came down to WV for a girls trip and decided to spend a day on the New River! We chose the intermediate New River Express tour and had a blast! Our guide, Armen, and scout, Steve, made this experience fun and memorable!! Both were knowledgeable and able to share information about the river, bridge, and hiking trails in the area! As a first timer, Armen gave great information and instructions that made me feel confident and comfortable! We even had the opportunity to jump off and ride a rapid (take them up on this when they offer- it was amazing!) We can’t wait to come back for another trip with West Virginia Adventures!

What a fantastic trip! After doing some research we went with West Virginia Adventures. Our river guide Armen, and our spotter Steve were experts on the river and a blast to be with. Definitely consider requesting them! We were a group of four sisters, two who had been rafting before, and two who had not. We did the Lower New River Express trip which is four hours in the afternoon. We lucked out with perfect weather. If you’re uncertain about doing the swim opportunities through the rapids (where that’s possible), this fifty something did and would have regretted it if I hadn’t!

Like small outfitters the best. We had a great time rafting with Crock on New River. Eversays he's most experienced with 30 years rafting. Stories he told on the ricer were just as fascinating as the river. We'll be back to ride the Gully.
